Two words.....! Awe Some, September 24, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Pearl Izumi Men's Pro Intercool Short (Apparel) Ok let me start by saying I got a pair the pearl Izumi pro 2010 shorts and I love those. If your a Fan of those shorts than these shorts will literally blow you away. The pad is exactly the same as the prior year model and is super comfortable. If your doubting whether to spend the 100 bucks doubt no more, it is worth it, trust me your taint will thank you, I mean if Mick Jagger was buying protection for his taint this is the pad he would be buying. The shorts have this great fit and incorporate this space age mineral fabric that is basically the same stuff they made the space shuttle out off. I mean the second you put these on you want to hit the road they feel so great. They got rid of the draw string from the previous model, I though it would be a bummer, but actually wasn't that much of a let down. All around thumbs up worth every penny.

Great overall & distance cycling shorts, September 23, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Pearl Izumi Men's Pro Intercool Short (Apparel) I think the saying "you get what you pay for" applies here. My local bike shop (LBS) owner told me when I started cycling about a year and a half ago, to get a decent pair of shorts on the front end rather than some cheap ones and "work my way up" if I liked the sport. It was sound advice. My wife purchased a pair of Bontrager shorts for about $80 and I'm still enjoying them. So why get another or different pair if what you have is working? First, I think it's good to have options. Secondly, my wife and I ride a tandem bike and have gotten into longer distances, recently completing our first century ride (100 miles in a day) and the following weekend the MS 150 (150 miles in 2 days)...2 day/multiple day rides mean you might need a second pair of shorts. I was able to use my new Pearl Izumi's on both of these rides.
Overall the shorts fit comfortably and are very supportive. The padding initially felt pretty stiff, but has "loosened up" with several rides and washes... Read more
