The GXP crank started to separate at the drive side, the RD got loose, the cassette was showing signs of wear... basically, it became a little never-racking to ride between the squeaks, skips, and creaks. So this summer I swapped out the non-Ultegra parts with Ultegra components (but went with a 6600 double crank (53-39) because I heard that they changed the chainring spacing on the 6700 crank). It's really great! The RD-5600 was never terrible, but it was never as responsive as the 6700 SS is. It shifts so quickly and quietly, sometimes I have to visually double check to make sure it actually shifted. I feel significantly more confident shifting under a load or even starting at an intersection. This difference has a lot to do with the fact that the 105 was very worn and wiggly.
